Therefore, every year when the Manhattan Cocktail Classic comes to New York City there is no shortage of participants. Attendees have the opportunity to take part in more than just the nightlife aspect of cocktails, as the Classic provides them with the ability to learn anything imaginable about cocktails. How the Blue Mauritius Cocktail Got Its Name

  

Our Blue Mauritius cocktail got its name in a very interesting way. It contains Starr African Rum imported from Mauritius, an island known for two things: the extinction of dodo birds and the Blue Mauritius stamps. The legend is that after 500 of the Blue Mauritius stamps were printed, it was discovered that an error was made with the wording. The error was exposed only after the stamps were already released, causing the stamps to become extremely rare.

Kale, used in our Kale in Comparison cocktail, has long been praised for its health attributes. In fact, its origin is said to go back to early 600 B.C. when the vegetable was brought to Europe by groups of Celtic wanderers. This leafy green and low-caloric vegetable contains very high amounts of various nutritional components, such as vitamin C and calcium, which cause kale to be greatly revered for its health properties. Fresh kale is blended into a juice by our mixologists and prepared daily to be later put into our Kale in Comparison cocktail.
