Apotheke Curates Kanon Bar at Milk Studios for Fashion Week

New York City is an epicenter of innovation, taste and style and New York Fashion Week brings all these components together. At Apotheke, we like to find unique and unusual opportunities for inspiration, and we found just that when we collaborated with Kanon Organic Vodka, curating pop-up Kanon Bar at Milk Studios. Our Head Mixologist, Nicolas O’Connor, created cocktails inspired by designers’ collections. Want to try your hand at some of our couture-inspired libations? Check out the recipes below.

Dew Drop

Inspired by Erin Fetherson’s S/S 2012 collection http://www.style.com/fashionshows/review/S2012RTW-EFETH

• 2oz Kanon Organic Vodka
• 1oz honeydew/tarragon purée
• 3/4oz aloe vera juice
• 1/2oz fresh lime juice
• 1/4oz agave nectar
• Pinch of smoked paprika
• 2 mint leaves

Measure all ingredients except the paprika into a shaker, and add ice. Shake vigorously and strain into glass. Garnish with mint leaves and a dash of paprika. To make honeydew/tarragon purée, blend 1/4 of a honeydew melon with two tarragon sprigs.

Laurel Canyon

• 2oz kaffir-lime-infused Kanon Organic Vodka
• 1oz chamomile iced tea
• 1/2oz fresh lime juice
• 1/4oz limoncello
• 1/4 oz. agave nectar
• 2 cucumber wheels

Muddle the cucumber in a shaker. Measure remaining ingredients into a shaker, and add ice. Shake vigorously and strain into glass. Garnish with a lemon twist. To make infused vodka put eight kaffir lime leaves into a 750ml bottle of Kanon vodka and let sit for 24 hours.

Red Savage

• 2oz Kanon Organic Vodka
• 1oz snow pea, garbanzo bean, chayote bean and beet purée
• 1/2oz fresh lime juice
• 1/4oz agave nectar
• Dime-sized piece of shaved ginger
• Celery salt rim

Muddle ginger in a shaker. Measure remaining ingredients into a shaker and add ice. Shake vigorously and strain into celery-salt-rimmed glass.

Lust in the Dust

Inspired by Jeremy Scott’s S/S 2012 collection http://www.style.com/fashionshows/review/S2012RTW-JSCOTT

• 2oz sage-infused Kanon Organic Vodka
• 3/4oz fresh carrot juice
• 1/2oz fresh lime juice
• 1/4oz fresh celery juice
• 1/4oz cactus pear purée
• 3 cherries

Muddle cherries in shaker. Measure remaining ingredients into the shaker, and add ice. Shake vigorously and strain into glass. Garnish with a cherry. To make infused vodka, put 12 sage leaves in a 750ml bottle of Kanon and let sit for 60 hours.

Downtown Silhouette

• 2oz Kanon Organic Vodka
• 1/2oz creme de violette
• 1/2oz Carpano Antica Formula vermouth
• 1/2oz fresh lime juice
• 1/4oz agave nectar
• 4 blackberries
• champagne

Muddle blackberries in a shaker. Measure all remaining ingredients except champagne into the shaker. Add ice. Shake vigorously and strain into glass. Top with champagne.
